Vegetable Seasonality

This is a month-by-month guide to the crops produced by Genuine Jersey growers throughout the year.

More than 100 varieties of fruit, vegetables, salad leaves, herbs and organic crops are produced outdoors in fields, in protected polytunnels or in glasshouses. Crops produced in glasshouses are grown essentially under organic conditions with full biological pest control.

The only reason these are not certified as organic is because the English Soil Association does not allow the use of rock wool, whereas all the European organic producers are allowed to use rock wool as a root medium.

Some root vegetables are harvested and stored in cool conditions to allow for a longer supply season.

The vagaries of the weather may affect the availability of some crops listed on these tables.
