Katie was born in Jersey and has lived in the island all her life, she has always enjoyed creating and in 2009 decided to turn her hobby into a job! She makes handmade textiles for the home and beyond and has a passion for freehand embroidery.
She makes a selection of textiles, from bags to doorstops, from tea cosies to wall hangings to purses. She uses a lot of vintage fabric in her work as she loves vintage colours and textures.
After becoming fed up of overpriced mass produced greeting cards she decided to start making mher own cards, each one is unique as they are embroidered freehand. She makes personalised cards which are very popular, “kids love receiving something with their name on”, in addition to a variety of other personalised textiles including cushions, wall hangings, tea and coffee cosies, bags, book covers and doorstops.
Katie recently undertook a commission for a young lady who asked her to make a selection of interior textiles for her camper van depicting her van on the textiles, Katie copied the photograph that client gave her and was pleased with the finished products which included tea towels, cushion and coffee cosy.
