My interest in photography started when I was just 14 years old. I became a professional photographer in 1994, and following an accident have been taking pictures as a hobby ever since.
Initially I went to our local country life museum in Jersey ‘Hamptonne’ where I would sit amongst the animals taking photographs and talking to the visitors. I loved it. I was soon asked to sell my images in the Hamptonne shop and from there thought I could sell images at markets, fairs and fetes. Since then I have never looked back.
I am often seen around Jersey hobbling on my crutches, which convert quite nicely into a mobile tripod. If I don’t have an image of a particular area of Jersey it’s because I can’t get the car close enough for me to walk to with my crutches!
The hardest although most enjoyable part, has been selling my images at the markets and other venues, however I soon realised why I have been told not to do this because of the amount of pain I am in afterwards.
My images create a journey around the beautiful Island of Jersey. Some are easily recognisable such as Gorey Castle and Corbiere Lighthouse, but others are just my favourite places… oops that the whole Island!
With tides changing and light never the same it’s impossible to grow tired of photographing the island of Jersey.
