Holme Grown is the retail farm shop at Fauvic Nurseries, a tomato nursery that has been in the Payn family for four generations.
The business began 90 years ago when Stanley’s great grandfather began growing outdoor tomatoes in the south-east corner of the Island.
Today the glasshouse nursery covers almost 13 acres and grows a wide variety of seasonal local produce. Increaes in fuel prices has led to the closure of the tomato export business but demand for fresh local produce continues to be met through Holme Grown Farm Shop which opened in 2003.
As well as still producing a large variety of tomatoes every year, the farm also produces home-grown salad leaves, herbs, Jersey Royal potatoes, peppers, melons, cucumbers, strawberries and beans.
Holme Grown now sells a full range of Jersey products and gifts in addition to fresh fruit and vegetables. They will also make up hampers to your requirements.
In addition, the farm shop has a wide range of houseplants, shrubs and bedding plants as well as a tearoom, ‘Stanley’s’ with a wide range of local produce on the menu.
