Catherine has been making jewellery since she was nine years old for pleasure; and in the last few years has been developing her skills more seriously and selling her creations.
She discovered the delights of Precious Metal Clay a few years ago, and now makes unique pieces and teaches others how to enjoy jewellery making through private and group workshops at The Harbour Gallery. She also does fingerprint jewellery and hand and foot prints in copper, silver and bronze, framed by David Lister. She has done numerous courses; is Art Clay certified and has a Metal Clay Diploma through MCSJ.
She mainly enjoys working with silver and gemstones, but also works with copper and bronze. She appreciates discovering new textures and shapes, with ideas for new projects coming with each new experience. She especially enjoys creating in response to customers ideas and wishes; knowing her work can give someone a lot of pleasure is really rewarding. She finds jewellery making exciting and therapeutic, therefore is more than happy to share her knowledge and experience in workshops with budding enthusiasts!
