Sunset Nurseries.

Sunset Nurseries is a family owned nursery run by father and son Stuart and Marc Simon. The glasshouses were originally built to grow tomatoes but the business changed to flower production in the 1980s.

Since then it has become renowned for its quality blooms which are harvested daily and conditioned overnight in a cool store. The cut flowers include Alstroemeria’s which are grown on half of the two acre site and carry the Genuine Jersey logo.

Other flowers include Carnations, Iris, Rannunculus and Lisianthus. The nursery supplies local florists as well as exporting to UK markets. The nursery also delivers flowers by mail-order to anywhere in the UK .

The nursery is open to the public and is visited each year by hundreds of locals and tourists.

The nursery has a large, well-stocked gift shop with items of local interest including seeds, plants and bulbs as well as a Tea Garden which serves snacks, lunches and cream teas. Visitors can also enjoy the Tropical Bird Garden with Macaws, Cockatoos, Amazon Parrots and other exotic birds in large aviaries, set among tropical foliage and flowers.
