Jersey Soap is the trading name for the group of companies which includes the Samares Manor Soap Shop, which Susan Chatterley has been running as a full-time business since 2001.

Since then, Sue has developed a range of produce using a pure vegetable based soap. These are now available in hunreds of different formats, ranging from Au Natrel everyday products - which have been produced in response to an increasing demand for soaps and gifts suitable for people with very sensitive skin, who could not normally use soap and for sufferers of eczema and psoriasis - to beautifully hand crafted presentation baskets for all sorts of occasions.

Soaps at the west show

Using shapes and fragrances that reflect the character of the Island makes these Genuine Jersey gifts a wonderful change from flowers or the mass-produced gifts imported into Jersey.

Since forming Jersey Soap, Sue has expanded into other areas. A tax free gift service to the UK is available through the website at www.jerseysoap.com.

At the Harbour Gallery on Le Boulevard, St Aubin, Jersey Soap have created a new shop offering an intriguing mix of soaps, shells, mirrors, pictures, picture and collectables. They also offer soap painting for individuals and Soap Art parties for up to 20 children at a time, which can be catered for either at the gallery or at your own venue. (Booking is necessary for parties). We can even post a party to you!

After painting, the soaps take about a week to develop the characteristic 'wine gum' transparency. They can be made in many shapes, such as fish, lighthouses, birds or horses. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 are catered for, but with parental help children as young as two have created some wonderful effects.

Soap painting kits are also available to purchase so why not take one home and have a go yourself?

For further details please contact Ian or Sue.
